Key Features of the Trigger Fish Underwater Radio Trigger Housing

Designed for Underwater Portrait Photographers

Trigger Fish is purpose-built for underwater portrait sessions where lighting control is critical.

It lets photographers seamlessly trigger surface studio flashes from underwater, using their preferred wireless radio system.

Compatible with Most Camera Housings and Triggers

Trigger Fish connects via a wired sync bulkhead on your underwater camera housing and fits most wireless flash triggers.

Supports triggers using a 3.5mm or 2.5mm jack, or a hotshoe adapter.

Important: Trigger Fish only supports manual triggering.
It does not support TTL modes or TTL circuitry inside camera housings.

Rugged Water-Resistant Protection (IP67 Rated)

Encased in a military-grade, crushproof, water-resistant shell, Trigger Fish is IP67 certified for water immersion at 3.3 feet (1 meter) for up to 30 minutes.

Ideal for floating at the surface during underwater portrait sessions or resting safely poolside.

Stable Floating Operation

Trigger Fish is designed to float on the water’s surface, keeping your wireless trigger accessible, protected, and in optimal position to maintain strong signal transmission to your above-water studio strobes.

Reliable Signal Transmission

Maintain strong, consistent communication between your underwater camera and above-water strobes, enabling clean, instant flash firing without unreliable workarounds or risky DIY setups.

Testimonials

“I am an underwater and portrait photographer based in New York State, what that means is that nine months out of the year my Underwater pools are all located indoors, and often with less than optimal light.  Previously I was using a system with an on camera flash that optically triggered my above water strobes, but depending on my position in relation to the modifiers on the strobe, it wouldn’t trigger reliably.  It was so frustrating to miss a great shot!!

Another pain was adjusting the strobe power- I had to physically haul myself out of the water to go change the settings on the unit! That was until Brett told me about his Trigger Fish!  It is a perfect solution for anyone who shoots portraits underwater and wants to be able to use their strobes above the surface!  As a bonus- changing the strobe power is so easy! Just open the box and change the setting just as if the trigger was mounted on my camera!!  10/10 recommend!”

“It has truly elevated my underwater portraiture work. I’ve been a fan of Brett’s photography for years and even attended his workshop, where I learned to use above-water strobes to light models underwater—something I was hesitant to try. With his encouragement and guidance, I invested in an above-water lighting setup for my business, and I couldn’t have done it without his radio trigger housing. His craftsmanship is top-notch, and I can’t wait to keep using it for more underwater shoots!”

“Firing an above-water strobe from underwater used to be a real challenge for me. My DIY solution got the job done—but not without headaches. Once I tried Brett’s TriggerFish, everything changed. It works like a dream, making it so much easier to capture the kind of breathtaking images I couldn’t have achieved otherwise.”
