This was one of those moments I have where I see a shot on the back of that camera as I take it and let out a little underwater scream! @hannahmermaid and I shot this a few weeks ago, as part of an experimenting shoot day and I’d been gifted these sheets of mirror by the always generous Pete Romano from @hydroflexinc. I thought it might be cool to lay one down on the pool floor and have Hannah interact but when I saw it in the water I just had to have more - and so the Mirror Room was born 🤘🏻🤘🏻

This was @hannahmermaid and my first ocean swim for 2020 and maaaaaan it was great. We hit this beautiful kelp around 15 feet down and felt instantly at home.

I love working with colour underwater, especially

I love working with colour underwater, especially brighter/warmer shades as it’s a place that doesn’t usually have much of that spectrum. Water is blue because it absorbs such a large amount of the red end of the rainbow, that the cooler side is what you mostly see - so by adding colours I can bring back almost all of the spectrum again.

When creating this shot with the amazing @miss_lexi_renee I wanted to really make it punchy and saturated - mostly to compliment the visual impact that Lexi has, along with the outfit and the makeup by @alondraexcene.

They say the moon cannot live without the sun, that it would give in to its dark side, but without the sun’s powerful light the moon can finally shine on it’s own.

I shot this with @hannahmermaid years ago now, and it’s such a special image for me as it was our very first photoshoot together as well as being the beginning of me trying to capture effects practically, in-camera - like the glowing moon. So proud of this shot and the creative friendship that started with Hannah 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Working with @lauren_wk on this set was wonderful as she’d told me how much the water and her garden meant to her. She was at a point in her life where she wanted to commit to herself, to her own path - and own it. She definitely owned this shoot!

Is it too soon to be talking about Halloween? I me

Is it too soon to be talking about Halloween? I mean, walking the streets with masks on and scaring people is so 2020 right?

Halloween was never much of a thing when I grew up, we didn’t have it in Australia and it was just something we saw on American movies like E.T. So when we moved to the USA 7 years ago it was such a shock to see how loud and proud it all is! Houses decked out with decorations for the full month, costume parties up the wazoo, and trick or treaters bouncing from door step to door step like little excited vacuum salesmen - it was a lot!
After a few years I kinda got used to it, and even started to get excited myself - but more for the underwater sets I would build and the amazing outfits my clients would wear in those sets.
This year is different, we’ve got a virus that’s straight out of a Steven King book and we’re all afraid of contact - but I figured the best place to be right now is underwater, so a new underwater set I will build 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤣
